Dr. Bernhard Koehler is Founder and CEO of several international real estate and infrastructure fund companies. He founded Swisslake AG, based on the lake of Zürich and one of the leading fund-of-funds and off-market specialists in 2004. He was also a Partner and Member of the Board of HCI, one of the largest German fund companies for closed-ended funds, specialized in ship financing, real estate, renewable energies, infrastructure and private equity.
Bernhard is overseeing at Sunray Ventures the work on infrastructure and real estate projects.
Bernhard was Head of Controlling and M&A of the Heinrich Heine Group, which is part of the international well-known Otto-Group, experts in mail order and internet business.
Till today Bernhard has initiated real estate and infrastructure transactions of about 8 bn US-Dollars. He has more than 25 years of experience in the fund business and is one of the pioneers in global real estate activities originated by fund of funds and initiated more than 40 funds during his professional carrier.
Bernhard started his carrier as a banker and finished university as Diplom-Kaufmann in Business Administration. In 1996, Bernhard finished his doctorate/PhD in Economics specializing in the “Internationalisation of the Germany money policy” at the Philipps-Universität Marburg, Deutschland.
Bernhard is also passionate about wines, therefore he bought and created his own 52 hectares vineyard: Château Moyau, on the Mediterranean coast in the South of France. By creating high-quality wines he managed to establish Château Moyau as one of the leading wine brands in South of France. After selling Château Moyau in 2019 Bernhard started growing wines on the Balearic Islands in Mallorca and created his boutique vineyard “Arisal”.
Jasper Graf von Hardenberg is the co-founder of Sunray Venture and Daystar Power. He serves as the Chief Executive Officer of Daystar Power, a leading off-grid power service provider, offering hybrid power solutions to commercial and industrial businesses in West Africa.
Jasper has more than 10 years of experience working in senior management positions and top management consulting throughout Europe and Africa. Prior to co-founding Sunray Ventures he worked as a Management Consultant at Bain & Company in South Africa and Nigeria, covering topics ranging from strategy development, market entry and growth, company turnaround and performance improvement across a wide range of sectors, including energy, heavy industry and mining, telecommunications and financial services.
In 2020, Jasper was selected as a high impact entrepreneur by Endeavor, the worlds leading high impact entrepreneurship movement in recognition of the achievements at Daystar Power and the opportunity to scale the company into Africa’s leading C&I solar power provider. Jasper holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) degree in Economics from the University of St. Gallen (HSG) in Switzerland and Master of Science (MSc) in Management from the HEC Paris, France.
Christian Wessels is the co-founder of Sunray Ventures and Daystar Power. At Daystar Power, Christian serves as a President and is responsible for developing the client business of Daystar Power, supporting effective governance and development of the top-team.
Christian has more than 20 years working experience as consultant, executive and entrepreneur across Europe, Middle East and Africa. Prior to co-founding Daystar Power and Sunray Ventures, Christian served as an Executive of a larger group of companies in Middle East and Africa. Christian also served as a Partner to Bain & Company, supporting Bain’s growth in Sub-Saharan Africa and as a Director for Barclays Africa.
In 2012, Christian was appointed as a Young Global Leader (YGL) of the World Economic Forum. In 2020, Christian was appointed- together with his co-founder Jasper - to become Endeavor entrepreneur. Christian is a member of the Young President Organisation (YPO).
Klaus Zimmermann is overseeing, at Sunray Ventures, our green logistics business at Bisedge Limited and our international technology partnerships, including Linde Material Handling.
Klaus is also the Managing Director of Giromatch, a successful fin-tech lending platform.
Klaus joined Dresdner Kleinwort in 1997 and went on to become the Global Head of Securitized Products overseeing related sales, trading and structuring activities in Europe, Asia, and the US. In addition to his global role, he was appointed CEO of Dresdner Kleinwort Zurich. He contributed to the integration with Commerzbank and later took over the responsibility for Equity Derivatives Institutional Sales for Germany, Austria, and Switzerland until May 2013, after which he started focusing on his investee companies.
Klaus started his career at Bankers Trust Equity Derivatives Sales and Trading in 1992.
